What inspired her to start:
My mom. She's a singer too, I always watched her practice when I was a kid. One night, I saw her singing and thought, "I want to do this." That was the first time I decided to pick up a microphone. I always sang and danced as a kid; later I began writing and producing, getting out lyrical concepts. Eventually, I started making music that resonated with me and then received so much encouragement from people like Tokimonsta and my family, so I kept going. Basically, I always knew I wanted to perform, but decided, once I graduate college, I'm going to go full throttle. No plan B. No looking back.
Her advice to you:
Keep going through the rejection; don't stop because of it. Utilize it to inspire your growth. There's no getting around hard work. No matter how busy you are, if you do one activity that contributes to your artistic development every single day, you'll grow. Look, sometimes life gets in the way of producing art, but you must put aside time even if it's for a few minutes a day; even if it's something small. For example, reading a review as an actress or learning a song you heard on the radio as a singer; all simple things that can keep you moving forward. If you're consistent, you'll grow in whatever art you pursue - its a like muscle.
