Love Made Babe of the Week - Taryn

Hi! I'm: Taryn aka Teek @teekthesneak
I'm an: Artist/Photographer/Director
I'm a: Libra
I live in: West Hollywood
My fav spot in LA is: Swinger's Diner in West Hollywood - talk about babes! My ladies over there hold it down in their fishnets & tattoos & smiles. Four words: Gluten Free Avocado Toast.
A brand I'm really diggin right now is: Midnight LA @MidnightStudios
I think the babes with the best style are: Those who don't look to anyone for validation, but trust their vision: Vivienne Westwood, Debbie Harry, Siouxsie… the ladies of Punk. Penny Lane, my spirit animal. Cher in the 70's. Gwen Stefani circa Tragic Kingdom. Drew Barrymore in the Guess Ads back in the day. The fearless Erykah Badu. Solange, she puts color & texture to great use. And Willow Smith- It’s cool to see young creative females do their thing.
Song I can't get out of my head today is: Two Weeks by FKA Twigs - that woman is something else. Also, Friends by Stella (Santana) - I just wrapped editing on the video with my girl Spaghetto so I listened to it about 200 times. Luckily it's a great song!

What inspired her to start:

Since I could hold a pencil I’ve been sketching. I’ve always been artistic and supported by my mother who’s also an artist. She’s the ultimate babe.
I got into photography when I moved to LA and started working on Fairfax at the RVCA shop. A friend gave me their film camera, so I figured out how to load it and started shooting film of my surroundings. I got a bit obsessed  and started documenting everywhere I went. The best part was getting the photos developed. My first roll came out suprisingly well. I spent most of my money I made that year on film & processing. Soon I got into shooting musicians and interesting people around town. I was then asked to shoot for some brands including RVCA, which set off my journey shooting fashion.
Now I'm having fun with directing & exploring video. It's cool to play with different mediums. Creativity is all connected - whether it's food, music, photography, writing, dance... even conversation. It's just a matter of commitment to mastering whatever speaks to you the loudest.
